Guided by Tourism and Events Queensland and A Travel Duet, the itinerary was planned to bring the couple unique experiences each day.
Starting in Cairns, they dived into their first activity quite literally. Nothing like a thrilling skydive to warm you up for what is to come. Sherezade and Vaibhav then settled down for a romantic dinner that featured an elaborate spread especially designed to tantalize their taste buds at The Treehouse Restaurant at Silky Oaks Lodge, also their home for the night.
Silky Oaks Lodge is a Luxury boutique accommodation in beautiful Tropical North Queensland, Australia. Nestled in Kuku Yalangi country, this eco-lodge sits high above the crystal-clear waters of the Mossman River and is enveloped by the lush Daintree Rainforest cloaking the steep mountain sides from the riverbanks. It serves as a perfect base to explore the world heritage listed Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef.
Up next was a visit to The Mossman Gorge Centre. An indigenous ecotourism development, Mossman Gorge provides one of Australia’s most iconic Aboriginal experiences. No trip to Australia is complete without a dive into the Great Barrier Reef, so the couple revealed in a day of diving, snorkelling and discovering the hidden depths of the ocean. The Great Barrier Reef is as stunning from above as it is below and the best possible way to soak in the aerial views are on a helicopter flight, the element of surprise and the couples favourite spot on their honeymoon was landing on the sandy cay in the middle of the ocean and having the sand island all to themselves for a while.
They stayed at the QT in Port Douglas, a tropical paradise for the way you are. It’s a no fuss boutique luxury resort with vibrant and funky interiors that the couple loved! It was time to shop and explore the quaint town of Port Douglas before leaving to another hidden gem in Southern Queensland an hour from Brisbane, a little slice of paradise at Spicers Hidden Vale.
At Spicers, they felt relaxed amongst the abundant wildlife spending time on 12,000 acres of true Australian Bush. It was the epitome of comfort in a luxury retreat. They indulged in Mountain Biking and were joined by wild Kangaroos which was quite a thrill, tried their hand at Archery and just enjoyed the warmest of country welcomes.
Soon it was time to pack up and head south to Gold Coast, the playground for fun, they were completely relaxed and ready for some RNR in the city by the beach.
They wanted to explore the non-touristy side of Gold Coast and went up to Snapper Rocks and Pt Danger for the best views of the coastline seeing right down to Surfers Paradise, the lookout at Burleigh Heads was uber impressive and just watching the sun set in the horizon was a treat and a luxury that was so worth soaking in.
Scheherazade and Vaibhav spent one evening at Dracula’s Theatre Restaurant where along with a fast-paced thrilling show, talented performers help guests sink their teeth into a night of comedy, rock, puppetry and amazing horror FX.
Their last day was spent on a surfing session and an afternoon biking and then the enthusiastic duo packed a suitcase full of memories and bid goodbye to Queensland.
